how to connect to incorrigo syx
our platform can be accessed by a variety of different applications. depending on how advanced you are a user, you may prefer to use your own chat client [IRC client / the name of one of these applications], however - if you are just getting started we have one that works in your web browser / on any size of device, requires only a browser with javascript

if this is particularly new to you, the web browser client is recommended

private messages

... with a short, reassuring footnote

an example of a private conversation

there are two ways of private messaging someone. really this is the easiest part of our platform, 1 on 1. even though your messages reach each other through our network - absolutely no private messages or conversations can be viewed by any systems operator. if there is abuse, proof may not be easy to come by. however, just as we have lots of easy to use settings to [even micro] manage a whole channel full of people - there are many tools at your disposal to completely block people [and other accounts / clones] out of existence

sending private messages

your choices of message are /NOTICE <nickname> <message to send> which will send a one-off message in private .. and /QUERY <nickname> which will open up a new tab for direct messaging. again conversations are not available to look back on - just a text relay. all connections using our web browser version are secure

getting too private

there is more than one way to access incorrigo syx. you can get certain desktop apps, which support a method of exchanging things p2p privately - called DCC [direct client to client] - this will reveal your hostname / IP address, which we do not show for other users - and this type of connection goes outside the scope of our network. in other words, beyond that you're on your own

private notices [when there is no private tab open] will have the stamp "private" and the messages will have a coloured background. these messages can only be seen by you [and are used by our network services] - still you can start a dedicated session with a service by e.g. /query chanserv help all - services don't need a forward slash, but have their own command. so this command and /chanserv help all are just the same and they work equally as well with the other services

we will never ask you for your account details or your identity. it is not required, not collected in any way. we don't even have your password ... just the result of a mathematical equation that can only be produced by your correct password. all you need to register is to pass email verification, which you can learn by looking up the network services
